Through research, collaboration and education, the Air Charter Safety Foundation advances charter and shared aircraft ownership industry standards and best practices; promulgates safety, security and service benchmarks; and promotes the universal acceptance of safety management systems.
Alexandria, VA, June 23, 2010 — The Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF) is pleased to announce the addition of Meridian Air Charter of Teterboro, NJ, to the IAS Registry. Meridian Air Charter is the 12th operator to have completed the IAS audit and achieved Registered status with the ACSF.
“The ACSF registration complements our continued achievements in the safety community,” said Tim Burke, director of operations, Meridian Air Charter. The company joins an elite group of industry leaders that are committed to quality and safety and are part of this new proactive standard aimed at being the single audit standard for Part 135 and 91K operators.
The ACSF audit program evaluates operators every 24 months, and consists of a rigorous review of an operator’s processes, procedures, and regulatory compliance, as well as of the operator’s implementation of and adherence to an SMS. The IAS continues to grow, with 28 operators currently scheduled to go through the audit program this year and 15 of those already completing the on-site portion of the audit.

Meridian Air Charter Awarded ARG/US Platinum Rating
TETERBORO, NJ June 2, 2010 – Meridian Air Charter, a private aviation services company proudly announces it has been awarded an ARG/US Platinum rating.
“This upgraded platinum rating now gives us the industry recognition we consistently and diligently work for and deserve,” said Heather DeRegis, Meridian Flight Operations Manager, “A lot of time, effort and team work has gone into making Meridian – the line by which all others are measured!”
According to ARG/US*, the Platinum Rating is the highest level of its safety ratings and is awarded to those operators who meet the criteria for Silver and Gold, and successfully pass an ARG/US on-site safety audit. Meridian Air Charter ( headquartered at teterboro airport with global capabilities) just completed a successful trip to India on a Bombardier Global Express.
Meridian air charter has a diverse fleet of charter aircraft as well as global access to numerous aircraft from audited affiliates.

Recently Meridian Air Charter’s Falcon 2000 was chosen to do a trip to Toronto Canada specifically because to its WiFi capabilities. The client’s choice to take the 2000 was easily made, once they knew it had WiFi.
Falcon 2000 Goes Green
Meridian Air Charter’s Teterboro based Falcon 2000 recently went green with the addition of a set of API winglets. After the first flight with the new winglets Director of Operations Tim Burke remarked “The aircraft practically floated off the runway on takeoff and the climb improvement was quite noticeable. We got to our cruise altitude much quicker using less fuel than before.”
The winglets improve the aerodynamics and efficiency of the wing which in turn improves the fuel economy and climb performance. Although a considerable investment, the payoff in fuel savings is expected within a couple of years. A 7% reduction in fuel burn is expected along with a similar range increase. This will make the already fuel efficient Falcon 2000 even greener. The super mid-size Falcon 2000 has lower fuel burn than many smaller cabin aircraft with a significantly larger cabin. Any traveler sensitive to their carbon footprint will appreciate this aircraft. In addition to being a great coast to coast aircraft, its range and low charter rate makes it a cost effective option for travel to Europe. One quick stop is all it takes.
The installation was performed by Duncan Aviation in Lincoln, Nebraska under the watchful eye of Maintenance Director Robert Santangelo. “You can’t beat Duncan Aviation for their competitive pricing and impeccable workmanship” said Robert. This is the second winglet installation performed by Duncan for Meridian. In 2008, a Hawker 800A in the fleet added the winglets and benefited by a fuel savings of over 6%.
