TETERBORO NJ,  APRIL 26, 2010 - Meridian, the Teterboro, NJ based Private Aviation Services Company, is proud to announce  Aircraft Technician Crew Chief John Bahrenburg, recipient of the    Charles Taylor “Master Mechanic” Award, the most prestigious award the FAA issues to persons certified under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations part 65.

According to the FAA this award is named after Charles Taylor, the first aircraft mechanic to recognize individuals who have spent over 50 years in the aircraft maintenance profession as “master mechanics.”

John’s aviation career began when he joined the U.S. Air Force after he graduated high school. In the service he worked on single-engine jet fighters and while stationed in Japan he worked as a heavy maintenance technician.  He earned his A&P license at Red Bank Air Taxi in Red Bank, NJ after the military.  Bahrenburg then worked for Matco at Linden Airport in NJ, and after seven years joined American Cyanamid in Teterboro.  Once the aviation Department was dissolved more than 15 years later, he was hired as director of maintenance for Million Air. Operating now as Meridian, Bahrenburg remains an essential part of the outstanding maintenance team.

John’s favorite aircraft to service was the Lear 25 and attributes his successful, safe and steady career to “caution, a lot of patience and general know-how.”
